Working with Rachel has always been so easy! Day one we talked about my vision and what she envisioned after that. We talked extensively on glossy vs matte (because I never had a glossy cover before). Then like a week later I had the photos that I had taken of my model. She worked on it quickly and every suggestion I had she either explained why it looked that way or fixed it (including the tan lines on my model’s face).
She then made bookmarks using the same color scheme and fonts that were used with the cover design that were perfect!

I use three fabulous beta readers—Ashley, Keeper, and Brandy—as the first readers of my novels, even before my developmental editor. That is how valuable their input has become to my writing process.
They provide detailed analysis of the story, including line-by-line assessments of each chapter, and I can submit specific questions about anything I am concerned about. Afterward, I can schedule a video call to dig deeper into their feedback and ask follow-up questions. That combination gives me something I simply cannot get by reading my own manuscript again: a clear picture of how the story actually lands with readers in my genre.
Their feedback tells me what is working just as importantly as what is not. They identify moments of confusion, inconsistencies, missing information, pacing problems, character reactions that do not feel earned, and places where what I intended to communicate is not what the reader actually experienced. Most importantly, if I have taken the story in the wrong direction, I find out early enough to fix it.
That makes them an essential part of my editing process. Developmental editing is extremely expensive so having knowledgeable genre readers identify major problems before the manuscript reaches my developmental editor is an extraordinary value. I can resolve issues ahead of time and use my editor’s expertise where it matters most.
I also bring the same beta readers back after developmental editing for a final reader pass. They know my characters, my world, and my series, which makes their continued feedback even more valuable.

I had the chance to work with Perrin on this cover series. The response time is normal and her message tone has been professional from beginning to end. You’ll get a questionnaire with what you’re looking for and what’s expected of you to complete your project. I was able to submit everything she needed and she was able to start working right away.
I purchased a premade cover and asked for it to be made into a cover series. She was able to send me different options for the second cover because I wanted it to match with the first. I also purchased social media graphics as well. This is now my go to team for premade book covers but in the future I also plan on using the custom cover and editing services they offer as well. I am beyond excited to have found someone I can trust to deliver quality work and help me bring my vision to life!

During the early days of the pandemic, I got this idea for a science-fiction romance book that was weird and funny and really sexy, but it wasn’t anything like I’d ever written. I had worked with them before, and I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, promptness, and how detailed their beta feedback was. Going through the manuscript with Perrin’s notes was thrilling. I can only describe it as having a little angel on your shoulder cheering you on in the parts you thought you’d nailed (but weren’t quite sure of) until you see Perrin’s note in the margin confirming the reader’s reaction was exactly what you hoped it would be.

The danger in purchasing premade covers is that I end up creating work for myself when I see a cover I have to have, but I don’t already have a story written for it. This is what happened with the Santa’s Secret cover designed by Perrin. I love the thriller and romantic suspense genres, but I don’t often see holiday themed books in this genre.
